The blessed email went off yet again.

I had been introduced to one of Robomodo’s Environment Artists. This dude was amazing. We had exchanged a few emails; dude was giving me awesome advice re: current and previous projects.

Shit was like water in the desert.

Preach brother.

In this email, he was introducing me to the Wizard Joe Linhoff, one of Midway’s veterans.

After the introductions, we jumped on a call, terms were discussed and off we went.

:// MOBILE DESIGN

Space Tanks was designed from the ground up for mobile (iOS and Android). My part in the project was straight forward. I would create the vehicles, enemies, and objects.

I had been used to basically receiving orders then executing.

The great thing about Chicago Shipyard was that we would meet in-person. Discuss previously assigned milestones and then next steps. The best part about these guys was that they were all strapped.

Their day jobs were game development, Space Tanks was their side hustle.

The cool thing about this project was that these guys were always curious about everyone’s input. They really wanted to know what you would like to add to the project.

That shit was great.

I tried to find a link to the game today, but it seems to have been pulled from all store fronts.

Weird, before I had left; the team was talking about a soft launch on the European app store.

Hopefully the game did well.

These guys were awesome.
