The Evil Within: The DLC
I talked about The Evil Within in one of my first posts. I ended up getting the game a good few months after release. Normally I am day one/12 midnight for titles I am really excited about. The Evil Within was a no brainer, day one just slipped past me.
I did wait intentionally for the entire Season to be released. Having just finished The Assignment and The Consequence I fell back in love with The Evil Within.
The story in these 2 chapters worked really well. Having completed the main game there were many unanswered questions. The DLC did a great job at answering those questions, yet left you with new mysteries that definitely have my wanting more ‘Evil.
The DLC played different from the main game, in the main game you can chose to approach the Environment all Solid Snake and go by unnoticed; or you can choose to go in there all John Wick and destroy everybody. Here there is a heavy focus on stealth, mainly because all you have to fend off enemies is a flashlight.
It plays out straight forward at first, hiding from enemies and stealth killing them with axes. But then things start to get pervy and weird. You are introduced to a new stalker enemy, called Shade; basically a sack with a fog light for a face. Along with sexy legs that go all the way up to Canada, this thing moves very erratic and will give you a good scare or two.
Another main antagonist is The Administrator. This guy was definitely channeling his inner Albert Wesker / G-Man. Too Mantastic.
Shade X The Administrator
I remember people complaining about these 2 chapters online, I thought they were an awesome addition to the experience. DLC that adds to the mythos of a great title, now that’s my cup of tea.
The Executioner is up next, can’t wait to see what type of weird is waiting for me.
Excellent work Tango.
