The Midnight Meat Train

>> THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN TRAILER <<

:// INTRO

I think this is probably the third time I promise myself that I will write every single time I consume media.

This time I had done it the night before I saw The Midnight Meat Train.

When I first started to write (or post on forums for that matter) I promised myself that I would not write anything negative. I’m not a negative dude, but it is easy to start complaining about everything when you jump online.

During my deep dive into horror podcasts (est 2012), I kept hearing praises about Meat Train.

So here we go.

Some people hate watching “old” movies, I’m not sure if it’s because they do not find them relatable. But a good movie is a good movie no matter what year it was released.

One common theme I have noticed with good movies is that you really never think about the times the story is set in. For example, I LOVE the original Halloween, but I have never said to myself “Man the 70s were weird”.

This movie, however, is super 2000s.

How so? Well, the whole thing looks like a 90 minute MTV music video. There are a lot of quick cuts, and some shots you can tell were placed into the movie for the “cool” effect.

So the plot itself does sound great: a New York Photographer witnesses a murder on the late-night subway.

And the Killer is Vinnie Jones.

Pretty cool right?

Did you know Vinnie Jones actually played pro-soccer in England? True story.

That 3D.

There are some very good moments in this movie, and there are some really interesting directions in which the story goes.

This one has to be seen, no doubt.

I do kind of wish they had kept the killer hidden, Jaws style. Because every time I see Vinnie Jones, I think about Snatch.
