Ash vs Evil Dead REDUX

There are a few moments in history when you realize that you are a part of something special. I remember grown up and having seen parts of the original Evil Dead. A few years later, I would also see scenes of Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. These would eventually bleed into each other into what I thought was one big movie.
It was especially confusing since Evil Dead 2 is technically Evil Dead 1 re-shot with a higher budget.
One of my old high-school buddies used to work at a video rental store, it was actually the first time I rented a DVD, it was Army of Darkness.

After Army of Darkness, the series was basically dead (no pun intended). There was always rumours about a possible Evil Dead 4, not to mention Freddy vs Jason vs Ash. That would have been awesome to see, at least we got a comic book out of it.
I had also bought both PlayStation 2 games, I also had the Dreamcast version of Hail to the King, but that one is difficult to get into though.
It’s always great to see Bruce Campbell doing anything, but the dream was always to have him wieldeild that chainsaw again.

Once 2013 came around, we finally got our next taste of Evil Dead. Although, Ashley J. Williams was nowhere to be seen. It was sad, but appropriate. The Evil Dead remake is phenomenal in it’s own right. It dripped with style and dread.
And then, we got a short fade-in with the chin himself.

Finally, the announcement of Ash vs Evil Dead dropped. And we were back where we left off with Ash. A handsome, ditzy-loser who is still working retail 30 years later.
The show is a perfect final send-off for the character, it is bitter sweet that the show only lasted three seasons. The silver lining is that we were able to catch up with Ash and watch him develop into a full-rounded character.
Not to mention, his supporting cast is fantastic.
This is well worth your time.
