BIOHAZARD Warehouse

>> PROJECT – BIOHAZARD Warehouse <<

:// INTRO

This was probably the most personal project I have done yet. As any video game fan, I have always wanted to remake my favorite environments.

This is probably the biggest sin when it comes to 3D art.

But I had to do it, I wanted to see how far could I take my (current) modeling skills and how far could I push my (then) current gear.

Puta madre.

I squeezed every drop of processing and ram from my small Dell Inspiron desktop. That thing was literally wheezing when I finished with this one.

:// BIOHAZARD

I love Resident Evil, no really, you don’t get it, I really love Resident Evil.

Resident Evil 2 was the one game that got me into this mess. I think somehow, I knew this would be one of the last pieces I would do on the Dell.

If so, I had to go out with a bang.

I decided to remake the final boss area from the Original Resident Evil 2. My idea was to give it the Resident Evil 1 remake treatment. Basically, I would take the existing area, “modernize” it a bit and give it a more run down appearance.

I think this might have taken 2 months to complete, probably a little less.

My family thinks I’m lazy, unfortunately they’ve never seen me get down and dirty on the keys when it comes to 3D production. I spent every waking hour on this piece every day. Some things were a home run on the first try, others were a total failure, and I would have to go back and re-think it.

:// GOODBYE, FAN ART

I am very proud of this piece. For what was accomplished with the (very) limited resources I had, this was epic.

But this was also it, I had gotten the itch of creating fan art scratched. This is when I realized that time is finite. Instead of remaking things that already exist, I should focus on creating things that don’t. Especially personal projects.

As always, thank you Resident Evil.

Thank you.
